Admire the rock-cut temples dating back to the 5th century. The Elephanta Island has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 to preserve the artwork. Climb the 120 steps to the caves. If you do not wish to climb, there are porter chairs available for a small cost at the start of the tour. Explore the collection of shrines, courtyards, inner cells, great halls, and porticoes arranged in the magnificent symmetry of Indian rock-cut architecture. See the exquisite stone sculptures of Hindu gods and goddesses. After your tour, return to the Gateway of India by boat and drive back to the International Cruise Terminal.
