The Zarapkar College of fashion was established in 1933 by Shri K. R. Zarapkar in Pune. This fashion institute offers many short term as well as long term courses. The courses commences from the date of admission.
The main objective of this institute is to enhance students' practical skills and the knowledge concerning design principles, methodology, concepts, managing projects, etc.
The institute gives a practical approach in all the subjects, to develop student’s creativity, professional and technical expertise of the faculties with all the management strengths and a futuristic vision. The assignments given to the students are based on the practical knowledge of a production process and market studies.
Short term courses are offered in Embroidery, Dyeing and Printing, Flat Pattern Making, Industrial Pattern Making, Draping, Grading and Fashion Illustration.
In fashion design course subjects covered are: Fashion Illustration, Theory of Fashion Design, Elementary Textiles, Surface Ornamentation, Draping, Drafting, Pattern Making & Construction, Fashion Merchandising, CAD, Portfolio Development, etc.
It also has an array of some basic regular courses: Ladies' Basic Certificate Course (Garments 14), Advanced Ladies' Certificate Course : (Garments 12), Advanced Ladies' Certificate Course No. 2 (Garments 10), Gentlemen's Certificate (Garments 12), Ladies and Gentlemen's Diploma Course (Garments 25), Selected Garments Course, Embroidery Course (Basic stitches 15+ plus variations).
